Who should be featured for January’s Last Tuesday Treat?

For January’s Last Tuesday Treat, we’ll wish a Very Merry Unbirthday to one of two artists who carved out careers outside the mainstream, Jonathan Richman or Mojo Nixon!

Jonathan Richman penned the amazing tribute to Massachusetts and Route 128, “Roadrunner,” in 1972, recorded with his band, The Modern Lovers. By the late 80’s, Richman was a solo act who released quirky, emotionally charged albums on an almost yearly basis while touring small venues and bars throughout the country.

Mojo Nixon‘s rockabilly career began in the mid 80’s with a string of rocking albums with Skid Roper which spawned the likes of “Elvis Is Everywhere” and “Burn Down the Malls”. Nixon continued to record weird and wonderful music through 2009, collaborating with the likes of Jello Biafra and Dave Alvin.
